I'm a full-stack engineer with a primary focus on the front end, 10 years of programming and visual design experience across various disciplines and industries, and an enthusiasm for creating unique digital content. From a young age my passions had always been in art, technology, and gaming - and it was at college where I began to refine my educational path, studying graphic design and IT. A lot of what I discovered and learnt in these years; alongside my love for gaming, is what continued with me into further education. At university, I studied games programming, and spent the early part of my career building browser-based slot games for large global gambling companies, working with graphical libraries like PixiJS and WebGL (Unity); a foundation gave me an instinct for animation and user engagement, and was the gateway for me into a fascination with web based visual design. From here my career pivoted fully into web and app programming, with libraries like NextJS, Vue and React Native becoming my tools of choice, and it was at this stage I began to really see web design as a powerful visual medium, combining all of my skills and interests. A brief industry pivot following the COVID pandemic opened up a door into the live events industry for me; an industry now booming in wake of restrictions, where I found new ways to combine my skills, creating dynamic visual content, programming lighting shows and creating unique digital experiences for both independent and corporate markets. Today, all of these threads run together. The technical rigour from games programming, the eye for composition from graphic design, the understanding of how an experience lands from live events, it all feeds into me creating work that goes beyond getting something to function. The goal is always something that feels considered, moves well, and leaves an impression.
